After three years of living in Japan and four in China, and three kids in three countries, I’ve recently landed in Boulder to help make some of the best bikes in the world. When not doing that I spend my time playing with tube amps, rebuilding broken things, and playing really bad guitar.  I have a couple degrees from a couple universities, and speak Japanese under the influence of sake.  My life goal is to be able to finally get both cars in the garage.

As a native of Massachusetts I grew up riding the streets of New England. It was in the mid eighties that I jumped on my first mountain bike. But since I first threw a leg over a top tube as a young kid, I've been hooked on cycling. I moved to Colorado in 1992. I met my wife, a pro mountain biker chick, on a ride in Winter Park in 1995. We've been married since July of 1999 and I'm still trying to keep up with her on the climbs! My hobbies include watching T.V. on the couch, continuously eating, playing in the machine shop, but mostly thinking of, working on, and riding my bicycles. After many years on the retail bike store circuit I have a real job here at Maverick!

I am originally from Minnesota where my addiction to riding began. I started out getting rad on single speeds, and also mastering the ancient art of The Bicycle Derby. I now live in Colorado and try to ride as much as possible.
